A little note: John Wolfe has operations of the Amarillo Track Now. Will be an IHRA facility.

Dennis Notes: Friday, 3/5/10

  • Sunday, March 7th work day has been cancelled do to where the posts are. We can't get to them. Rusty's Weigh will have to pump the water out around the posts 1st.

  • Sometime soon, when they start to lay the asphalt paving, I will need all the help to get all the guard rails up in 1 weekend.

  • I have been contacted by Joe & Layton Garrett, they want to help get the posts to the track. They have a tractor with forks to help load. Caprock Waste will bring a drop off to fill them and take it to the track for us to unload until we get them all done. Reschedule (TBA) on a Sunday at 10am.

  • I have picked up the plans for the track & now are getting the finals done & the finals on the SBA as from the time I had the other loan, SBA requires more stuff since all the foreclosures happening but things are going smoothly now. I want to have everything done right w/o any problems. Please bare with me as I know you must think what takes so long. This isn't like buying a car or even a house anymore, believe me if I had known all this would have happened I would have done things different, but to late now so the next thing is to do it right & have the best for you & me to have safe fun.

  • I want to thank the following for their help the weekend of Feb 20th: Carl & Diana Hill, Joe & Layton  and Lynton Garrett, and Dale & Tyler Derryberry. We moved about 400 guardrail posts that day. Other people offered their flat beds like Jimmy Beatty & Lee Polk & Lawrence Saunders to help for next time. Thank You !!!

  • I have been in touch with Compulink about redoing the whole track like new from the starting line to the finish line to set all infrareds & all that need to be done to be perfect again.

  • Racers, I want to thank Joe Jackson of Rusty's weigh for coming thru with guard rail posts (600 approx.) & David Dean from Joyland for the telephone poles. This will help get the guard rail project done quicker & safer.

  • I have a contractor ( Alan Butler ) & an engineering company (Bobby Beale, PE) that knows what we have to have for your safety & fun, we are planning a January start date so we will see what happens. Up to the bank & SBA right now.

  • I now have someone that wants to help with new sponsors (Robert Covington) he is from the Dallas area & loves Drags. He wants to help support the track so you will be seeing him around town contacting potential sponsors.

  • If anybody wants to help with new sponsors for the 2010 I sure do need some, so I can get done some other needed work in the pits & burnout area's (pits $50,000 to $80,000 to overlay & burnout box $20,000 to $35,000, shut down area is about another $100,000.

    Please call me for info.
    Thanks Dennis

We have received a donation from a Clovis racer and we want to thank him. He wishes to remain anonymous at this time.

Another donation of $500.from Macco Paint & Body (12/09) Thanks Dennis

I want to thank all the sponsors that are still backing Lubbock Dragway.
