NHRA Division 4 Updates:

NHRA Division 4 Bracket Finals Rule Change:
RPM Shifters in the Non Electronics

After gathering all the information and voting we will allow automated shifters in the Non Electronics classes at the 2008 ET Finals. There are already cars with this set up and using a computer you can set current street cars to shift at a predetermined RPM so it will just level the playing field. All other rules remain the same.

NON-ELECTRONICS AND HIGH SCHOOL RULES

1. Delay boxes, throttle-stop controllers, automated throttle stops, REMOVING automated shifters (electrical or pneumatic), or any device that relays vehicle performance or on-track location other than OEM equipment is prohibited.

2. Line-loc devices allowed only on non-driven wheels. Button for line-loc cannot be mounted on steering wheel. Line-loc device is not to be used for launching vehicle. All wiring to line-loc must be visible and traceable by tech inspector.

3. Trans-brakes accepted for use as a reverse lockout only. Trans-brakes are not to be used as launching devices. Trans-brake button cannot be located on the steering wheel or shifter. Tech Inspector may at any time request removal of any trans-brake.

4. Two- and three-step rev limiters are prohibited; a single-step rev limiter will be accepted.

5. Any other components legal unto themselves but altered in any way to affect vehicle performance are prohibited.
