Warren Farmer, Ricky Pope, Dlynn
Caddell, Peter Asjes, Rowdy Derryberry were Wally winners during
Lubbock Dragway’s National Dragster Challenge. |
In
Super Pro, Farmer powered his `68 Camaro to a .004-initiated
10.221 (10.21) to edge out Milton Jordan, who settled for second
with a .006 light and 9.443 (9.42) from his `77 `Vega. Cy Hill
was the lone semi. |
Pope
won Sportsman with his `70 Monte Carlo, running a dead-on 11.225
(11.22) to defeat Steve Milam Jr. Glenn Nall and Eddie Bull took
top three honors. |
In
Modified, three of the last four racers left standing all had
Wally`s to their credit. Caddell made it four of four by
hoisting her very own after retiring skilled racer Stacy
Acevedo. Jeff Woods and Peter Asjes were the semifinalists. |
Asjes
double duty paid off in Street with a starting line advantage
over Kevin Hendley. Lydan Devin finished third. |
Derryberry
won Diesel after he posted a .083 light and 14.645 (14.57) run
over Jenna Pichla. |
Garrett
Mathis in his `70 Camaro won the 1/8th mile consolation race
with a 7.039 (7.02). |
Sara
Cortez earned another win in Jr. Dragster after her better
reaction made Brandon Brewer break-out with a 8.519 (8.52).
Cortez piloted her dragster to a 8.323 (8.24) at 76.87 m.p.h. |
